Axel is a lovely Percheron Quarter Horse cross. His shorter stature and broader body mean he is a great match for many programs as he can easily carry kids and adults without having an intimidating size. Axel has been used in almost every aspect of ranch life, from adaptive riding lessons and hippotherapy to veteran programs and volunteer instruction. Axel wins the prize for best forelock, as no one can resist braiding his amazing hair. He is friendly and well behaved and is a favorite in the kid’s classes. He loves attention and enjoys when he has a job. Because of his breed he is stockier, heavier, and has much bigger hooves than his herd mates. He is a presence in whatever herd he is in and well liked by the other horses.
